Brotherhood on TV5? Naman!

TV5's Promo CM for Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Isang surprise para sa buong Pinoy Anime Circuit ang muling pinasabog ng BAGO AT NAG-IISANG TUNAY NA ANIME AUTHORITY ng Pilipinas, TV5. With barely two months after the anime's release in Japan, heto at ihahatid ng TV5 ang Pinoy-dubbed FRESH EPISODES ng FULL METAL ALCHEMIST: BROTHERHOOD!

But TV5 has cleared their doubts (myself included). Tuloy na tuloy na ang pag-eere ng FMA:B on May 22 at 7:30 p.m. PST. TV5 has proven na sinsero sila sa pagbibigay ng mga top-class animes in its entirety at hindi mga pipitsuging anime na ipinapalabas diyan sa tabi-tabi.

Matatandaang TV5 ang may hawak ng FASTEST ACQUISITION OF AN ANIME'S OUTSIDE BROADCAST LICENSE via Special A (less than a year after S.A was broadcast in Japan) pero sila rin ang tumalo sa sarili nilang record na ngayon ay via FMA:B na (SEVEN WEEKS AFTER ITS INITIAL JAPANESE BROADCAST).

The Rebellion Continues

Zero is back, and he seem to have more schemes under his sleeve this time.

A year has passed; the situation in Area 11 is steadily getting worse. Elevens are being subject to coercive disciplinary action and are removed of their human rights. Brittanians instilled fear to the Elevens, to prevent any further uprisings and suppress liberal thoughts. The Black Rebellion was a failure, and Zero… is dead.

Lelouch Lamperouge, a 17-year-old high school student from Ashford Academy is living the life of a common Britannian, discriminating Elevens. He seemed to forget that he was once the savior of the Elevens, the masked hero named Zero.

In November 2008, a big anime explosion from promising network TV5 shook Philippine TV – Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion. Arguably, this anime revived the dormant anime spirit within Filipinos put to slumber by the giant Philippine TV networks. Suddenly, people were talking about anime again, of course other than Naruto. Code Geass has secured TV5 its new reputation being the NEW ANIME AUTHORITY OF THE PHILIPPINES.

After its run in December 2008, Geasstards (Code Geass fanboys/fangirls) has flooded the TV5 forums requesting for the immediate airing of the successful anime’s second season. TV5, with all there might, tried their best to release the second season as early as possible to prove that they do value their viewers.

And now, the day every anime fan waited for has finally come.

The rebellion continues with Code Geass R2: Lelouch of the Rebellion. Lelouch’s memories were altered, so CC and the rest of the underground Black Knights launch a plan to retrieve Lelouch and recover his memories and Geass powers and resume his identity as Zero. Suzaku, now part of the Emperor’s Knights, has pledged to kill Zero no matter what.

Code Geass R2 is bombarded with plot twists every episode that will keep viewers at the edge of their seats. The cast of characters has become much more complex, and the story events seem to move faster and faster every episode. From my critical point of view, I would say Code Geass 1 is a better season than this because this season has full of plot twists that some are them are just too ridiculous, but overall CGR2 is another mind-blowing must watch for every anime fan out there.

Code Geass R2: Lelouch of the Rebellion premiered May 4, 2008 on TV5 and airs Monday-Friday at 6:00 p.m. with marathon replays every Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

Goodbye "Barag." Good Riddance!

Remember him?

But for now, ADIOS BARAG OBAMA! AND GOOD RIDDANCE!
